slavery = not their life time. you still get boers upset about the english putting their wives and children in concentration camps, people need to grow up. racists don't magically disappear unless this is once again Narnia and a perfect world.

Well no, that's different as slavery is no longer living memory - in the sense that there is no-one alive who remembers being enslaved during the periods of slavery (of any kind).

There are, however, millions of people still alive who suffered under apartheid and the hurt and humiliation still lives with them. It's not something you can just 'forget'. If you've ever been traumatised by another person you'll know how hard it is to 'forgive and forget' - it may be impossible. It's not about growing up (and I don't know what you mean by first-world material).

Not sure that this is a valid differentiator. Look at the troubles in Northern Ireland. They stem from long before anyone there now was alive - but the hatred and intolerance is passed on from parents to kids and it lives on.

Well all 80% of them, that figure is based on metered households. What percentage is made up by illegal connections and those bypassing the meters is anyone's guess.

I don't think it's fair to say 100% of metered households pay for it, though. Why else would the municipalities have such massive debtors books?

yes, those centers were economically strong with lots of jobs, but if there is apartheid and you are discriminated against, why on earth run to the place were there is alot of "racism"? You could stay in the homelands and slowly build up an economy with international help.
