My pool is losing around 3mm per hour when in pump mode. Small pool, under 30 000litres. I'm in the Norwood area.

Can anyone on here recommend a reputable pool repair company?

There don't seem to be too many around.

Tried Pool Magic in Edenvale but they don't seem to be interested in doing business.

Also phoned pool pro in Glenhazel about a week ago and they too are in no rush to send out a technician...

TIA

Phone your insurance company ask them who they use. Unless you are with an auto and general based insurance then rather leave it.

yes.

absa/standard/fnb all cover pool failure in your insurance. but if it turns out that it is failing due to lack of maintenance they will not pay. i think the maximum cover is about R5000.00 per event depending on your policy schedule.

phone them and report it and ask them to send out a Loss Adjuster.

Phoned my insurer and they reckon more than likely a damaged pipe. They don't cover damaged pipes apparently. Only damage to motor and chlorinator. Malakies...

In the last 5 years I've made 2 claims, 1 for a burst geyser which they covered no question/problems and 2 damaged ceiling boards after a massive rain storm which they didn't cover on the basis that the roof wasn't being maintained. They didn't think it was plausible that a powerful storm, as the one experienced, could have dislodged tiles on the roof and cause the damage to the ceiling boards... Malakies...

How do you maintain a roof?

Which reminds me - I need to clean my gutters before rain season.

Pool renovators 011 793 7414 - haven't used them yet, but am about to

So Brandons pool care come out today as promised and they pretty sure a cracked filter is the cause of the leak. R2.9k to fit and replace.... F uck...

So it's only leaking when the pump is running? If so, that eliminates the possibility of a leaking pool (which is a good thing).
What I would suggest it digging up the pipes running from the pool to the pump and checking if you can find the leak there. It's going to cost you a Saturday morning and about R50 of pipe/Putty (that cement putty).
I suppose you've checked that there's no water in the pump-enclosure?

Just after I moved into my house I discovered a leak and did as suggested here. Found the leak, ducked off to Builders for spares and by that afternoon all was sorted again.

I am sure that he has fixed his pool from 2011

Thread necro FTW:D

Well he could be like me, I didn't fix my leak and have been living with a big hole in the garden for 6 - 7 years now, much easier than maintaining a frikken pool.

How would you find out where the pipes are?
