Who do I believe?

Aren't you getting them?

Are you on contract or pre-paid? I know on contract you'll get it before your bundle expire (~80%, I guess) and at 100%

an email would be far more useful for those with a wrt54g3g.....

out of bundle sms

We are in our 2nd month on "3G" 1Gig. Contract.

Never seen an sms or what ever.

Who would send the oob sms ?

We got a surprise of our lives when we saw the account for April which is only due at end of May.

Therefore the accounts are 1 Month behind.

The Cell phone bussiness is making a few people very very RICH. I guess fixed line Internet is still much cheaper ????

Soos iemand gesĂŞ het ek stoot hom in die ROOI in, maar onthoue djy ga petaal daarvoo.:mad::mad:

We're changing the system so that you can nominate an alternative SMS number.

Is it gospel that it is being done right now ?
Because as I have said I have never yet received such a sms.
According to our ISP we have now gone over bundle for April
and as per Vodacom4me we have also reached our bundle threshold
and still no SMS. ???

Which ISP is that?, also what sort of data device are you using and which software?

Has anyone here been able to reconcile data usage reported by a third party application with that charged for by Vodacom? I am using Netlimiter which consistently shows lower usage than is reported by the Vodacom4me site.. the difference is often as high as 20% and I have not been able to reconcile a Vodacom account with the figure reported by NetLimiter. This is not to say that the Netlimiter figure is correct but it would be good to have confirmation that Vodacom is calculating correctly and that there is not a bug in their software.

I would not have been concerned if I had not had repeated problems with the adding of ad hoc bundles and the upgrading of a bolt on bundle (or rather the lack of this after it had been confirmed) Vodacom staff accept that the system is in error and make adjustments and pass credits ..... but who knows if the data usage calculation is valid?

3 Cheers.
This thing needs to be solved. If you are on contract like we are it becomes even more hair raising because only after a month will you know that how much you have gone over bundle. Eveybody says sorry you have to wait till you get your account a month later. (Sies man julle beroof ons).

You should use Netmeter.exe it has a daily weekly & monthly report system. You can also set limits etc. Maybe try & see if it works better. http://www.metal-machine.de/readerror/NetMeter_v0999beta2.exe

Would someone like to interpret this for me....

My account profile shows that I have a 1GB bolt on data bundle (I have a 4U zero contract)

This should be a 2GB bolt on data bundle and I have confirmation from Vodacom that there was a system failure which caused the upgrade from a 1Gb to a 2GB bundle to fail at the beginning of the month. I presume that the necessary corrections will be made to my account although I am told that it is impossible to make the change on the fly during the course of the month.

Last night I get the following SMS from Vodacom. "Vodacom Balance Notification. For your information. Mobile Phone 072607XXXX, Call Balance has now reached 50.00%. R501.41" This number is the sim in my data modem.

NetLimiter shows that for the month to date my usage is 1125.33MB

Vodacom4me showed a zero balance seven days ago and I have been running on my NetLimiter stats since then.

By my logic I am well within my 2GB limit and am unlikely to exceed this before months end... The question is what will I be billed and how many phone calls to 155 will it take to resolve the issue?

Well here is another one.
Vodacom/Isp's can tell you via vodacom4me how much you have left of your bundle but they can not tell how far you have gone over. But they can bill you at a rediculous rate but you only know this a month later. Therefore "The rich will become richer and poor poorer" V3G is there any progress at Vodacom on how to solve this issue ??

Yes, you are misunderstanding, follow v3g's instructions to OOB enlightenment, but enough of that let's get back to the topic of Data Bundle Rollover in this thread.

Sorry BOSS but this is how it started.
(where do I find these instructions if I may ask it here)?

LOL, no worries.

Login at www.vodacom4me.co.za then under "My Account" select "account info" and then select "reports" and then select "Itemised Billing report" and then under "FOR" select the current billing period and then select "Run Report", when that has run you should see OOB data usage as there will be a charge associated with it, whereas in-bundle data usage has a R0.00 charge against it.

I get the following. Account info it goes straight to Balances. I get no reports option. (Nou wat nou)

If you don't get the balances or detailed reports on 4me, please report it to [email protected]. They can only fix it if they know about it.

Ditto for notification SMS's. I've confirmed that everyone should get 2 SMS's. One when your between 80% and 95%, depending on bundle size and one at 100%.

If you don't get them, mail customercare and ask them to check why not.

Remember, it goes to the 3G data number, for now at least. We're working on a completely new notification system, but it's still a while away.
