Please post time update was received and if you have the leached/preview update running or not.

It should be up now. If you can, start checking.
 
so that explains why I couldnt get the NXE this morning. Man I just cant wait anymore :-D
 
can someone also please post the total download size? just so I know if I have enough bandwidth when i get home tonight lol

Rumor has it that the download size is approx. 128mb. Thanks for the link doobi, I got all excited and was let down when I didn't receive an update message... :p
 
i got a message on Live saying that the update will be available shortly

Well I'm semi-capped (iburst softcap) so I'll check how it goes.
 
From what I hear and understand.....the 128mb portion is optional (just for avatars) ? While the 4-8mb is the core update (3D menus, new stuff and whatnot).

Can anyone confirm this?

Well the preview/leak I downloaded is just the UI and it weighed in @ around 8mb. Trying to access the avatars results in a message saying that an additional download is required to use that feature so I imagine that makes up the other 120mb :cool:

Does this 4-8mb core update get stored on the console itself or does it get stored on the MU or HDD?

is it an official update? it wont blacklist my xbox or something? where do we get that?

Yes, it is an official update. It'll most likely be available on the official Xbox site as a direct download sometime after the launch (around 12pm today)
