So yesterday I ate at Mugg & Bean for the first time after a long time. For me personally I didn't anything particularly appealing for lunch, the menu does not seem to make much sense for a part from the usual coffee time snacks. If they are regulars what do you order and why do you keep going?

I am no regular. They have a massive menu, but i have never had anything which stands out. Its all rather average. I just go because other people i know like the place.

I enjoy the sizes of their meals, more than the usual. And they have things I wouldn't order usually so I can try new meals.

Their coffee is good, muffins are fantastic and the general quality of ingredients is high (in my experience).

Yes. We have one at the garage I go there quite often to grab their chicken mayo health/toasted/wraps. They make a killer chicken mayo.

I make the mistake of going to M&B once every few years and always regret it. They have to have the slowest service of all the large franchises out there.

Not a regular but I quite like the menu, there are always new things on it. It's not like going to a real restaurant or anything though.

This. Their portions are excellent. Never walked out of there feeling like I was shortchanged.

I had their chicken strip burger the other night and was not impressed. It was dry and tasteless. Their tomato and basil soup, however, is out of this world!

That's what I thought too. Until I tried the butternut!

Unfortunately it seems to be a bit franchise dependent :(

Been going to Bugg&Mean since they started in CPT Waterfront. The one in Midrand I may still order dishes that are not on the menu anymore. But there are a lot I will not put my foot in.

Their butternut and chickpea soup is awesome though my local M&B are stingy with their portions esp in those huge bowls they serve the soup in.

Will stop in every time I venture to the mall down here, portions are huge AF and have tried at least half the menu by now, everything is pretty damn tasty. Can't say the same for the one in Durban I went to, blech that was some awful taste sensations.
