Who here still uses map books?

So we have affordable GPS's, GPS enabled phones and Google Maps, so which of you sorry souls still rely on map books?

A GPS unit is more than just an electronic map book, you do know that right.

And a static map on the net is not gonna re-route you around traffic like the new unit can.

Yes, I do... And still don't see the point!

E.g. if you are travelling from Pretoria CBD to south Centurion and there's an accident on either of the main routes there, then the secondary routes are just as stuffed as everyone diverts to them and that causes even a bigger traffic jam!!!

EDIT: It is at the intersection of Rink Street and Cape Road. Some the gps unit will tell you it is at the corner of Rink Street and Russell Road, but technically Russell Road ends at the traffic light at the intersection and Cape Road starts on the other side!

And that is the problem. I use a map (new to CT) but back in GP I used to do like moggie, look up, memorise, drive.
