Who is capped?

OK - since the general feeling is that local is now uncapped, please let us know

  • If you are capped
  • Your ISP & ADSL package
  • Your usage
  • When you were capped

I am capped, on ISDSL 3/30GB, used 33GB and was capped Saturday/Sunday (19/20 Aug).
 
1: not capped
2: datapro 12gb cap per account
3: average about 9gb per account

as far as i understand you now have uncapped local ? so effectively i now have a 6x12gb cap international (i have 6 accounts)? effectively meaning i will never be capped again :)

the IS news server? most months ive been able to squeeze 40 to 45gigs out on my account... if we truely do get uncapped local, i can see 80gigs a month quite easily. midget porn, should give it a try ;)

news server, backups, inter office transfer.

It is sad that people are conditioned to think 30GB is a lot. I transfer more than that on the LAN before my first coffee is finished in the morning.
 
Ive downloaded 1.4 gigs in 5 days :( ive got 600 megs left for the month.but im gonna try and calm down.

my question is when i get over the 2 gig cap and i shut down.Then i wake the next day to log in.Will the 'authentication' part go through.Or will they detect that ive gone over the cap and not allow me to log in? How do you tell if you are capped? Can you simply not go on International sites right?

lol tyhe 30gb over lan is fine but over adsl? by the time i get to the 2nd gig for a day datapro's servers fall over then i must start again. :eek:

it use to be most of the time that when you're capped you will not even be able to properly log on. but now since last week i dont think the ISP's even know what will happen. just sit back far from the modem, it may selfdestruct, or worse, show a telkom logo :)

ok cool.who actually monitors the users usage? Is it done by software of manually inputed ?

lol its done by software. you will only be capped by the next time you log on. so if your modem logs on and then goes over the cap within like 5 mins after that, but stay connected for the rest of that day, you will be able to download as much as you can possible get just as long as the modem dont disconnect or reset. so you can go over your limit by a little.
 
ok! so its like a session.when i get to around 1.99 gigs i should just hit the hell out of the downloads :)
