Who is responsible, Cell C or me?

Hey guys I have a problem with Cell C and I would like your opinions.

I have two cell c contracts and I made an EFT payment on the FNB app on the 28th of December, in the month of January I got my statement showing my accounts in arrears I then called Cell C to ask if they haven't received my proof of payments, I was told that it wasn't received and that I should send it again. I sent them to the cell c agents personal email address right after.

2 days later I called cell c to follow up if they received my proof of payment and if my accounts were allocated for, their answer was no and that is because my money did not reflect on their side. So they said they would investigate and call me with feedback. Today I received a call from cell c saying they indeed received my proof of payments however looking at them, they were paid to the wrong account number and Wrong bank. They asked me where I got their banking details from and I told them from their Twitter support page, which is a verified page by the way.

The account details that we sent to me by the twitter page were from standard bank, but cell c banks with nedbank. Also bear in mind the two account numbers are completely different from each other.

So now I have to do two reversals since I deposited the money into the wrong account. So my question is who is responsible if I don't get my money back also if I do get my money back who will be responsible for the reversal fee of R265? I don't know if the fee will be for each transaction or if it will be bundled. Thank you guys. You may ask questions if you need further explaining

Technically I would say them if you got the info of their verified social media account, but I don't see them taking any responsibility or refunding the money so you will take the lose

I did get the information from their verified twitter account, still have the proof. I went to the cell c store and they told me to call customer care, the customer agent tells me that they will not be liable for anything since I got the information from twitter which could have been from glocell or any other stores/businesses with cell c. I told him that the information was from the actual Cell C support account and he still didn't want to listen to me.

I texted Cell C back on twitter and I explained to them what had happened, they went through all the previous texts that were exchanged between both parties and discovered that indeed I was given false information. They have promised to credit me for the penalty charges for the reversal and also said they would credit me for the lost money if My Bank can't reverse it. So it is okay now. I will be waiting on the bank to see if the reversal was successful or not

Nice resolution. Hope they deliver on their promises.
