Who still plays Oblivion?

I found that smart use of mark and recall really takes alot of the monotony out of not having fast travel. dosent stop having to create training spells an walking around casting all the bloody time just to be able to use it tho.

one mod I'd definitely recommend that doesn't directly affect gameplay is Morrowind Graphics extender

Provides Directx 9.0 features. Looks much better and maxes out drawing distance.

What I used to do was use "A Good Place To Stay" (an awesome mod) and mark there. Then you could teleport to various places from inside the house and then recall back there!

I bought it on the Steam sale recently, and started playing it vanilla again. Even though it can't come close to Morrowind, vanilla Oblivion isn't half bad. Had it been Morrowind with Oblivion combat, though, it would have been epic.

Agreed. I only played an hour of Morrowind, I can't seem to get into it because of the combat system.

Everytime I slash someone with my weapon, it doesn't make any noise. I have no idea if I'm even doing damage :/

loved this game still remember running around unlocking ppls doors just level a attribute that would make me invisible only to find out that going invisible was a default trait of the race I chose
but being able to do 2 invisible spells worked out great during the end game  epic game, sadly never got on morrow wind,

1 last thing I remember is there might of been a bug but the abilities of the Vampire seem to just get stronger and I could walk in broad daylight but this was only after completing the main quest

but dam I loved that game

The combat works on a dice roll system, and every time you hit, the system determins whether that hit actually hits the person. It was a brutal system.

I had a bug where every time I slept, I'd be a stronger vampire when waking up. It was very annoying, because the metamorphosis between vampire levels had t be a day apart. I'd sleep for an hour, wake up and be a stronger vampire, then immediately sleep another hour, wake up and be stronger again. That pretty much killed any reason I could have had to be a vampire in the game.

I think to this day Oblivion is still my game with 'Most Played' hours. Damn I loved it, and ironically the least interesting part for me was the main quest! Best side-quest ever!

Yes. I still do. Would you guys believe me when I say that I've never (ever) completed the "Find the Heir" quest? The side quests are just so addictive.

Here is a nice Oblivion modding guide. Also has a nice Morrowind and Deus Ex guide.
