Who's dropping the ball....

Ok, I've been waiting for my upgrade for about a 3 weeks now...

I live in Bloemfontein(I know things tend to take a bit longer before getting here) but how on earth is it possible to not have a single iphone 4 available in a city for a month?

I am using vodacom and the vodashop keeps telling me they have no stock, is this a problem in the entire country or only in Bloem?

Is apple not supplying enough phones to South Africa?

Have we got a moron working at Vodacom in charge of calculating the demand for the phone and ordering only 1.1% of what he should actually order?

I've used the 3G and 3GS and I can remember also having the same issues of ""Sorry we don't have any stock".

I know a few people actually wanting a iphone but due to the hassle of actually getting one they upgrade to something else..

This could probable be local(Bloem) but I would like to know if this is a general problem?

The very first store I walked into in small Richards Bay (Incredible Connection) have plenty stock - when I asked them if they had the iPhone 4 - they said sure, how many do you want..

Yeah, I ordered my iPhone 4 16GB last week Monday 11 Oct, they called 2 days later telling me the phone will be at my door in 3 to 4 days. I phoned again today and they told me they are out of stock and they have no ETA for new stock.

Also Vodacom direct - telephonic application, I am based in Port Elizabeth.

Ordered at a 4U shop 3 weeks ago. No stock and still waiting... patiently...

But still, where exactly is the problem?

Vodacom?
Apple?

Cause this is a issue with every single version, they make a lot of money buy selling these phones with contracts but for some reason they never have enough stock to satisfy the public demand.

Somewhere somebody must be screwing up.

Ordered mine on on the 8th, from a Vodashop on upgrade in Port Elizabeth,still waiting, it's a country wide stock shortage.

Complained on hellopeter and got a response about they are still waiting for more stock from Apple and are not sure about the ETA of more stock, sorry blah blah.

I'm going to hang on till the end of the month.

They only had stock of the 16 GB, and said their stock of 32GB had sold out, but they would have more stock of the 32GB this week. I don't know the price, but it is advertised on their site I think.
