The poll on the main page had swung around.

"Will you be happy with a ‘pay-per-gig’ ADSL billing system?"

The majority vote now says "YES"

uhmm did I miss something?

Uh.. can anyone vote or just registered users?

Its very hard to believe that. At best you will pay the same, at worst you will pay 900% more?

Lets be wise here folks .....

Nobody is proposing per gig billing at the rumoured prices.

Ah well, not that it matters, this will fall on deaf ears regardless - people always hear what the want to hear.

The one-vote-per-IP-address function of the polls is not working anymore, hence the weird results. Try voting a couple of times yourself to test this.

Anybody can compose a macro script to click on a certain option unlimited times.

"Will you be happy with a ‘pay-per-gig’ ADSL billing system?" - Wont answer that without a rate.

The options should have included:
* Yes, at R5.00 per gigabyte
* Yes, at the rumoured, insanely priced rates that Telkom is apparently implementing
* No
* Uncertain

I'd say take it down - based on posts alone there are WAY more people against it than reflected in the poll. I myself managed to push "No" from 47% to 48% (which is, btw, WAY TOO LITTLE!!)

Telkom can always use this to their advantage: 'But people VOTED for this on myadsl, and we ALWAYS listen to the consumer...'

I voted uncertain too, because it does not stipulate a price, maybe more peolple would be happy with per gig billing if it was at a reasonable price. You cant expect the pole to always reflect what you think is right, thats the point of a poll...

You were extremely indecisive...? :D
lol no im very decisive about it but didnt want to skew the yes/no results..

Of course some losers are sitting behind their glowing PC scree and repeatedly clicking Yes so that telkom can refer to the poll at the next ICASA hearings, or use it to punt their new accounting system.
