so i got myself a databundle, and i use my cellphone(nokia n80) as a modem. i only get 3g reception in my room, if my phone is on my bed.

so i connect to the net, and it connects at 3g but after about 5-10min of surfing the speed and connection drops to gprs.

this happend 6x over the w'end (on different days)- but when the phone just lies there doing no connection, it keeps the 3g connection

does anyone know why this is?
or how this can be fixed (ie i don't want to move my pc, and also not want to put my phone outside for a better connection :o )

You've obviously got very marginal 3G reception.

The right thing to do is to mount an external, high-gain antenna and connect that to you phone, possible with an inductive coupler.

In the mean-time try a 3G-only profile.

oh ok, i thought as much, but hoped there was simpler solution

how would one go about doing this?
