Very SAD
I am very disturbed and saddened by all the useless cr@p you people post here.
You seem to be an intelligent bunch
BUT
Your understanding of ANY aspect of human social affairs like --
history , politics , economics , comparitive geography and history ( especially the colonisation of the North American continent ) is just plain missing.
Is there not ONE person who can post a lengthy detailed INTELLIGENT entry with proper academic / formal references
and
not just a whole lot of thumbsuck NONSENSE.
IF this is the raw material we have to man the barricades then I am NOT very optimistic for the future
Has anybody ever seen photos of the airport in LUANDA in November 1975 ????
This is RECENT history right on YOUR doorstep.
Here we have the Rhodesian War and Mugabe right on YOUR doorstep.
So MUCH information available so EASILY -- and all you can post is CR@P
With a bit of effort and time you could read ( proper serious academic books and articles ) about the whole history of Africa.
Why not start with
THEODORE and the Abyssinian campaign
read the sanitised version
Narrative of the British Mission to Theodore King of Abyssinia
Read the REAL version
Try and fit in one of Wilbur Smiths early books "The SUNBIRD" along the way.

But I suppose that is the "Boer" way -- ONLY interested in as much as he can see from the front stoep.

FLight from Angola
Aug 16th 1975 | From The Economist print edition
The Portuguese are calling it the greatest exodus in the history of Africa, and they are right.
Not even the Congo, where in 1960 the white population fell from 110,000 to 20,000 between January and July, was like what is happening in Angola now.
Angola's 500,000 or so white people, nearly all of them Portuguese, have had enough.
Although the bitter fighting between rival nationalist groups has had little or no racial overtone as yet, the whites expect to be turned on at any time.
The result is that just about anyone who can get out is trying to.
Here we have the Rhodesian War and Mugabe right on YOUR doorstep.

In the end I will have NO sympathy for you -- you could so EASILY have learnt -- but threw away ALL the opportunities.Favourite Novel
# Cool Facts sent in by Tony Moffit: Wilbur's favourite novel is 'The Sunbird'.
It has special significance for him because it was the first novel he wrote after meeting Danielle.-His personal stationery has a small, royal blue sunbird at the top -
I've got two of his handwritten letters to prove it.-His property in Constantina is called 'Sunbird Hill' -If you look on the bottom right hand corner of all his hardcover books, actually printed into the cover is an impression of the same sunbird that is on his stationery.-
River God/ Seventh Scroll were on Wilbur's mind as early as 1990. When he was in Australia promoting Golden Fox, we spoke on the phone at some length.
He said he was heading back to Africa to take a cruise down the Nile because he "had a few ideas about trying to do another Sunbird" sometime in the future.-
Wilbur told me his first novel, which has never seen the light of day, was rejected nearly 20 times. It's still unpublished. he now keeps that book in a safe place and whenever he starts to believe his own publicity he gets the book out to bring himself back to earth.
But I suppose that is the "Boer" way -- ONLY interested in as much as he can see from the front stoep.
