In our roamings and living overseas, I have always tried to keep an open mind. I am well aware of the Saffer rep of arrogance and general @rseholery, but, I have never met a nice Australian. I have met, and really liked, Italians (), Spaniards, Chileans (), Argentines, Peruvians, Egyptians, Kenyans, Trinidadians (), Uruguayans, Russians, Austrians, even Germans, Irish, Scots, Belorussians, Filopenos, Chinese, Canadians, etc and even a few nice Americans. But my god, with the exception of a fabulous Tasmanian friend, every single Oz I have ever met is a deceitful, backstabbing, spiteful @rsehole. A friend of mine works with them and agrees with me. I suppose they can't help it, with their genes, but even their indigenous people seem to be uniformly @rseholish.
Why is this?

They're pissed off at all the South Africans back home.

I suppose so, can't blame them really. But I ran into an Aussie today and she was being an @rsehole without me saying a word, I.e. she did not know I am Saffer

I don’t meet Australians, I already have enough South Africans to deal with

Have worked with a handful, have partied with a handful, game with a handful ..... dig them all, awesome people.

Both. Have worked with many, and one Contiki trip I did (to Scandinavia) was about 90% Aussie. Great bunch of people, by and large.

Don't think generalisations are helpful, really.

I agree. I keep an open mind. But I think I have met more than 50 Aussies, and they are all awful. Yes, friendly on the outside, but .......check your silver Orbital

Would be quite interesting/telling to hear what Aussies think of @bokdrol.

I have personally worked with a few ausies and found them all to be great people. I've also been to Australia twice recently and fond them to be some of the friendliest people around.

I have worked and lived with many Ozzies, in the UK and the USA. Awesome people. I think the problem during all these encounters, are the common denominator: YOU.

Why is this?

The fact that you list pretty much every nationality and rate whether they are @rseholes or not says more about you IMHO.

Perhaps they react to you that way and not others?

I know many aussies and they are all good people.

Why is this?

Crap generalization. As with every nation, you get good and bad people. Most aussies I've met have been friendly, wonderful people

If everyone you meet is an *******.... well, I've got some bad news for you, but you're the *******.
