What's the story with your Aussie countrymen?
(For any confused people, Chris is actually Australian, the Brit bit is a little lie by him)
Could it be because they still have the Brits as their ceremonial leaders?
/spits drink while coughing uncontrollablyBokdrol is beloved by many who matter. I am a good and loving soul. No agenda.

I'm Australian. Been here for 27 of my 55 years - so pretty much half my life here and the other half growing up in Australia.
If the OP's experience is as it is, then so be it. Personally I've found South Africans to be just as normal and friendly on the whole as most Australians.
I will say that when I first came here for a visit back in 1983 I was particularly struck by how downright frickin' nice just about every Afrikaans person was not only to me but to the whole bunch of us (all Aussies) who were here for 4 months back then. That view hasn't changed.
I had Italian cousins here visiting a while ago and they also remarked how nice Afrikaaners had been to them.
So take a bow guys.
In our roamings and living overseas, I have always tried to keep an open mind. I am well aware of the Saffer rep of arrogance and general @rseholery, but, I have never met a nice Australian. I have met, and really liked, Italianslove
, Spaniards, Chileans
love
, Argentines, Peruvians, Egyptians, Kenyans, Trinidadians
love
, Uruguayans, Russians, Austrians, even Germans, Irish, Scots, Belorussians, Filopenos, Chinese, Canadians, etc and even a few nice Americans. But my god, with the exception of a fabulous Tasmanian friend, every single Oz I have ever met is a deceitful, backstabbing, spiteful @rsehole. A friend of mine works with them and agrees with me. I suppose they can't help it, with their genes, but even their indigenous people seem to be uniformly @rseholish.
Why is this?
What a gent you are, sir. Magnanimous in the light of OP's tribalism.I'm Australian. Been here for 27 of my 55 years - so pretty much half my life here and the other half growing up in Australia.
