Why Did You Marry?

Heard that marriage is mainly just two people constantly asking each other what they want to eat until one of them dies. Plus some sex for a few years if lucky. I'm happy being single.
I know a guy like that, He asks his wife everything even if he is at work. Think of the worst case scenario and he is like that.

We knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together from early on.
I was happy to just muck around until whenever but in her final year of studies she realised she wanted our kids to have the same surname as hers. ()
Once you qualify you get your degree in the name that you currently have and then its very hard to change later on.
As a medical doctor this is important, your name is your reputation.
So basically if we were all going to happily have the same name we had to get married before she qualified.

I knew that we were going to get married at some point - so I realised that there was actually no point in waiting.
I proposed in the Feb and we got married in the September, it will be 16 years this year. 20 years together.
We have 2 kids age 9 and 5ish.

No regrets and I would do it again tomorrow if I had to.

AND yes, a few other doctors we know have had issues when their kids have different names to them. Its not great when you are in a foreign country and they all of a sudden doubt your kids are your own.

yip my wife has the same thing ,everything HPCSA is in her maiden name .makes no difference .

Because I lover her, and wanted to have some commitment and exclusivity. She had a big heart, with room for several boys. That was a problem for me, especially when I had to go do DNA tests to check if my kids were actually mine. They were, but things just kind of ended there.

Wow that's a bit crazy, you had to do a DNA test.

That sucks man. I recently found out that my ex was seeing someone else almost two years before I decided to end things.. and this is from her supposed bff.

I also don't understand why people keep telling me about her life and what she's doing now. Why would I care?
