This is the second time Bling has taken my airtime. First was R30.00 and now R14.00.
I was browsing the web for apps and then got an SMS. " Welcome to gamezone. Subscription cost R14 per day. To unsubscribe SMS "STOP" to 31922"
I did this and R14 gone.
Spent R14 and don't even know what I got for it.
Why does MTN allow Bling to still operate and steal our money?

This should be illegal - I don't get how these guys can deduct/allow deductions on your account without proof that you ordered the service in the first place.
Vodacom does this too, greedy bunch of skelms the lot of them & it will continue until some law forces them not to.

Once the new consumer protection act comes into force (March or April?) it will be illegal to subscribe you to something by default -- you will specifically have to opt in to something you want, and you may not be charged for something to which you did not specifically opt in. The other major effect on things like cellphone contracts, as I understand it, is that a 24-month contract, for instance, WILL end after 24 months -- it may not simply continue indefinitely if you forget to cancel it, as happens now, and in fact they have to notify you of its imminent expiry a month at least beforehand.

Correct. There will be a double opt in. Could be in place already with the wisp watchdog "waspa". I have not been to check WASPAS website out yet but if I remember correctly, an amount over R10 must have a double opt in.
I am not going to spend R20 in phone calls from Cape Town to Jhb. to have R14 refunded. They know this.

I did not enter my cell No.

you don't have to enter your mobile number if you use your phone's native browser, your number gets automatically fished, that's the proof they need to submit to mtn to bill you, they can't do that if you use a third party browser...trust me

Sorry. System error!

MTN/Bling 10 - 0 marco (and millions other unwitting customers)

MTN/Bling = R20 million/mth
Unwitting customers = Holes in pockets searching for their rands.

Tell you what, you go to dimension data tomorrow and tell them to close their doors and il tell Bling the same lol it doesnt work like that guys...
