Why gaming on PC is better then console:
*Eventual PC always has the best graphics. I don’t have to wait 5 years for my game to improve.
*You don’t need the machine to help you aim, real games can aim properly with a mouse.
*You can play with more then 4 people in a game (few console games let you play 128 people)
*You can mod them: worlds of possibility and endless fun, Imagine a world with no Garry’s mod or dota?
*Patches.
*Games are cheaper.
*No MMORPG on consoles.
*Largest selection of games STILL.
*Indie developers.
*Performance boosts: woohoo your Xbox is locked at 30fps? Mine PC hits 100fps!
*It requires you to think, don’t be a lazy slob.
*Emulators, if you really want to play that “awesome” console game, emulate it.
*You don’t get charged to play the game online. (depending on the game of coarse, but for Xbox is everything)
*hacks.
*customization. (I can import my own tag)
*Unofficial fixes for older games. (when the devs don’t care anymore)
*As much storage space you can buy, And backing up of your level 100 character save games.
*Faster load times.
*I can play almost any game released for PC, but if you didn’t buy a PS3 in the first 6 months when it came out you can’t play PS2 games.
*True multitasking, want to check a walkthrough quickly? Just alt-tab, console? Oops no keyboard
*I can fix it myself if I want to.
*customize your PC as much as you like

Some games are just not the same on a PC, like Tekken.

Because it was made for console, But they stole the idea from Mortal Kombat which originally was a PC game

That's no excuse. Also, Mortal Kombat was originally an arcade game.

Oh ja My bad: Arcade -> PC ->console and PC

ok man those are all good points but Fifa will never be decent on Pc.that game was made for the guys to have a few drinks and play knock outs infront of a tv.

Fps will always be way better on pc and rpg games aswell but its all about plug and play for some people.Oh and one more thing - you get the console and you know whatever game is put on the shelves you dont need to worry about specs and upgrading every year.

Use a gamepad :) Even the most vile console port can be a gem with one. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Alone in the Dark (new one) and the like. I can't imagine playing them with a keyboard and mouse, it takes something out of it. I love my gamepad :D

What I like about consoles is the selection of exclusives. Mostly for the PS2 though. I love JRPGs and really wish that we were able to get ports for them, but since that's unrealistic you just have to make do :)

I'm a PC gamer through-and-through though. I love the fact that I can do everything I want with my PC when I want to. If there are jaggies, I can force AA, if there's framerate stutter, I can do something about it. If something like the GPU/drive/whatever fails, I can just RMA that part and/or replace/upgrade it.

Consoles have their place in the world though, but if I had to choose between a game for console and a game for PC, the choice is easy.

I have Pc's and consoles. The Pc's are great for RTS/RPG's, Flight sims. The 360 version of HAWX makes me want to puke compared to the Directx 10.1 goodness of the PC at same resolution.
Sometimes PC Games dont want to work for no good reason. I always have a older spare with the opposition video cards etc. just in case. Of course no gears of war on PC nor any Infamous. Also the DRM is really hateful. As you said PC games are cheaper, why pirate. They have been this price since I can remember that is 20 years ago when I was in matric. And that time R300 meant something.

BTW my current favourite game is Anno 1404 but waiting for the continuation of Tropico an unfortunate game that had a sequel worse than the Highlander movie.

But you have to pay for those upgrades.

Subjective, dual analouges work perfectly fine.

*You can play with more then 4 people in a game (few console games let you play 128 people)
Most new PC games are only one player per PC, while console games allow more. Also, MAG (a PS3 exclusive) allows for 256 players online on one server.

*You can mod them: worlds of possibility and endless fun, Imagine a world with no Garry’s mod or dota?
Sadly, this leads to walkhacks and aim bots on the PC.

*Patches.
Not to sure what you mean by this. Console games also get updates now, but they are less prone to the 2gig madness that broken PC games get, I think the consoles get the better deal

*Games are cheaper.
But the hardware is more expensive.

*No MMORPG on consoles.
You mean like Final Fantasy XI

*Largest selection of games STILL.
Maybe, but how many work on a specific version of Windows?

*Indie developers.
XBLA and PSN

*Performance boosts: woohoo your Xbox is locked at 30fps? Mine PC hits 100fps!
This depends on your hardware make up and investment

*It requires you to think, don’t be a lazy slob.
WTF?

*Emulators, if you really want to play that “awesome” console game, emulate it.
Well, the PS3 and 360 are nowhere near emulation, also current PCs wont be able to do it.

*You don’t get charged to play the game online. (depending on the game of coarse, but for Xbox is everything)
PSN is free

*hacks.
Why is that good?

*customization. (I can import my own tag)
Don't have a PS3 or 360, so not sure how the tags work

*Unofficial fixes for older games. (when the devs don’t care anymore)
Instead of games working the first time?

*As much storage space you can buy, And backing up of your level 100 character save games.
PS3 lets you use any 2.5" HDD

*Faster load times.
That would depend on the HDD's used

*I can play almost any game released for PC, but if you didn’t buy a PS3 in the first 6 months when it came out you can’t play PS2 games.
You're joking right. PC games have horrible compatibility. Try playing Duke NUkem 3D from it origanl disk on your new pC and tell my how that works out for you.

*True multitasking, want to check a walkthrough quickly? Just alt-tab, console? Oops no keyboard
Console are for playing games, not for replacing pcs.

*I can fix it myself if I want to.
Some people can fix pcs, some can fix consoles

*customize your PC as much as you like
Depends what you mean by this, there are lots of console skins and mods available

I think that makes for a nice counter argument.

I HATE turn based games

That's cause the fifa pc port is a piece of rubbish. Pro evolution soccer is more than good on pc. Also for the record you can setup your pc in the living room near the coach/tv so there's no reason why you and your buds can't have your beers around the pc using the big tv screen as a display and using controllers on the pc for that particular game. Might take more effort but it can be done and has been done.

But no platform is better than the other each has its strengths and each has its weaknesses. Consoles are for people who like convenience and ease of use while the pc are for those who like customization.

Consoles are cool because they have games like Fight Night, and you can sit in the lounge and crack somebodies skull.

PC's are cool because they have games like Total War.

Not much to debate really - buy both and get the best of both worlds :)

that's where the console will always win hands down.....and not all my friends have pc's capable of playing decent games but a PS2 for example and good old Pro Evo 5 is possible at anyones house with a basic av tv.
but yeah no platform is better.i just lost the interest of gaming on pc years back when i noticed the continuous effort to keep up to make the game run decently....but i wasnt working back then and ive been thinking of an upgrade lately.

Where is Fifa 09 different on the PC? I own the game on XBOX and have the game on my PC. I dont feel a difference in Gameplay

Actually, if I hook up my PC to my 42inch TV and play some Games like Resident Evil 5, NFS Shift, the graphics are 10x better

I think he's referring to Fifa 10.

FIFA 10 will have the same visual quality as FIFA 09. EA decided to take this step because on average the hardware isn't able to handle better graphics. Console players on the other hand can hope for increased visual quality. PC games Hardware checks the difference.

PC gamers haven't been very happy to hear that the PC version of FIFA 10 won't be visually enhanced. EA will offer the same graphics that have been used in FIFA 09. The console version on the other hand the visual quality has been adjusted and the overall presentation was improved.

Quite a sucky move if you ask me, they should atleast try to cater for those who have more expensive up to date hardware.
