Why is there a limit on 3G

Why is there a limit on 3G?, you cant download apps over 50MB, you cant do a small icloud backup, nor a small icloud restore, why has apple decided to choose for us when we can use 3G.. if its to save data then atleast add an option where we can choose to have this enabled or not.. I find myself away from my wifi for extended periods of time, and cant update apps over 50MB, nor do system updates..

Seems to be the only way is to get an android tablet, yes one could use a wifi hotspot, or phone, but then its more things to carry and keep charged, why does apple decide how i should use my 3G data?
