I was wondering about this when I first investigated & contemplated taking the iBurst pre-launch deal. At the time, optimistic enthusiasm convinced me the 5 months were to thoroughly test the iBurst network.

Now I'm not so sure that it was primarily about testing, remember that iBurst has been used in Oz for ~1year now, and I'm sure that WBS have drawn upon the knowledge base that PBS, Kyocera and ArrayComm must have created. WBS also did/commissioned testing of iBurst prior to November (throughout) 2004.

It is a given that time is needed to build up public interest & media hype, nothing wrong with that at all, so I'm sure that factors in high up on the list.

Does it have much to do with the big if- potential deregulation in February?

I'm a sceptic 24*7 when politicians are involved! If the hona-rip-ill min-esta doesn't make good on her alleged promises, she could find that the potential difference along with a hefty current will sweep her straight into Daisy's pasture. BTW, I'm all for non-violence, so don't think I'm saying what I have just said by not saying it at all

I'm not implying anything sinister here, I would however love to see a copy of the WBS iBurst project plan.

So, howz-about some speculation then- why launch in April? Or is there nothing else to it?
