Regarding the standard dstv decoder 1110, has spdif and rca - why dont our decoder's in this country have component out.

Surely it will improve the signal for all with component inputs on their tv's?
Am i missing something?
Sky's decoders mostly have hdmi and component outputs along with rca for standard tv's so im told by a buddy i have in the uk.
He pays 40 pounds a month and gets 10mbs unlimited broadband, 600+chanels+14 HD channels :(

Well the picture quality is already so low that composite (yellow RCA) is more than sufficient.

That just sucks, what do they need to do dstv's side?
So they need to upgrade their infrastructure?

Basically they are compressing the video they transmit to save on satelite bandwidth, which decreases the quality.

No SCART either.
It's a cheap useless piece of junk - it goes very well with the picture quality and content !

I miss my old 720i. It had 2 SCART outputs, two composite and 1 S-video. Although no component, I could connect it up to my amp, dvd recorder and 2 tv's no prob.
Unfortunately the thing crashed too regularly to be reliable for recording.

The 1110 has only 1 composite and 1 RF. So I had to "create" an additional composite out by running the RF out into an old VCR and from there use the composite out from the vcr.
