Does anybody know why there are no courier apps.

I have been looking online and other than local deliveries there is nothing like a RAM or Skynet or DHL app. Is there some reason why nobody has created one of these apps?

What do you expect the app to do?

Would like to register, book the collection, use my ccard to pay and track the shipment.

Pretty much the website's functionality built into an easy to use app.

It may be something to do with customer requests? If they had a high volume of them then surely there would be a bit more.

I think more businesses are geared towards emails and desktop pc's than doing things on mobile apps in any case... It's kind of a niche area I guess.

Personally and at work, we use a mix of courier services and a mix of website and email depending on if we have the specifications of the goods on hand or not.

Would be bluntly honest in saying too that i'd prefer to work this way than trying to do this through say, my phone as I just feel it would ultimately be less productive. There is nothing that stops me either from logging onto the website via my phone and doing bookings if need be.

What I would love to see... Is a courier company that really does have a functional website and services within... Still looking for one who has got things right as theres pros and cons between all of them but ultimately it is not ideal.

There is a mybb member that has a pretty decent parcel tracking web app

I can't recall who it is, I am sure if he creates an API you will be able to create a app

I work for a logistics company but our market is not consumer driven. We've discussed an app but dealing mainly with large corporates it's not an urgency. Better priority are integration api's, most large clients have their own erp's ( sap etc) and want to see info on their system.

Do you have an account with a company? Or is this for "per transaction" kind of deals?

Dawn Wing have the best site I've seen so far. Our company went for RAM because of the pricing but Dawn Wing's UX was streaks ahead.

Wasn't Ram much more expensive than Dawnwing though, Ram is the best from my experience but not the cheapest.

Depends how you look at it. Dawn Wing had the cheapest Main Centre price and the most expensive Regional. While RAM had a slightly more expensive Main Centre but has double the amount of main centres plus their regional is much less than Dawn Wings.
