Why no data price cuts, Vodacom?

Those Just 4 You offers are the only reason I use Vodacom. R12 for a 7 day night gig (23h00 to 04h59) is my favourite offer.

Lower prices would be unsustainable:rolleyes:

Ag, no worries Vodacom. My FNB Connect Sims will be delivered today.

Lemme guess, the blended price has come down even though real life prices have increased, or something ridiculous like that..

Profiteering ... CSPs should be heavily fined. Where are the billions they make going to ?

Why should Vodacom, or any company for that matter, reduce their prices if their customers are willing to pay. Economics 101: companies reduce their prices for one reason one reason only : to gain market share. Vodacom has a healthy market share and it is not losing any.

for once I agree with you

And the fear for me is that the horse has bolted on the whole "competition creates lower prices " mantra because the players are so entrenched. The government will have to get cute to get the networks to play ball on price.

Why should Vodacom reduce the prices to the peasants when we can get it from government?

This is the reason: VODACOM has won an estimated R5bn government contract, its biggest deal with the public sector to date.

The contract is for the supply of data and voice services to as many as 1.3-million government employees for four years.
