Why not have 2 price structures in place?

One for home users and one for business?

Just a suggestion.

Well then what about a LeechTime (tm) service with much cheaper rates, from 19h00 to 07h00, and weekends, for home users. Block access out of those hours. Like Callmore time. The net normally flies for me in those times, while it often dies during the day.

This is the problem - business accounts would shrink (if the present pricing was any different.) And this is how sick this is: business is restricted to 3gigs - I'm sure it's going to make us highly competitive in the global market.

...lots of business would move home: even more losses for telkom :p

I'm sure we will all be thrilled to have no access during the day!

I'd be quite happy. Browse/email on work connection during the day, leech at night at home. I am sure many people are in that position. That is why Telkwhatever has Callmore time, and the cell networks have off-peak times - the networks are not busy at those times. Encourage the downloaders to do so at night, freeing up more for business during the day.

Where do these people get their imagination?

Most other countries have ADSL packages for home and business users. Normally the business package costs more, but gives you more functions.

I would love to see a Telkom business ADSL package with a static IP address, higher/unlimited bandwidth cap and better SLA.

How are any of these suggestions an improvement ?

Well, if you could get 30Gb for R300 pm in LeechMore (tm) time, I bet users would flock to it.

Did you guys never use dial-up and Callmore time?

I'd go for that (if the R300 was inclusive of everything, ie. POTS rental, ADSL rental, ISP and unshaped bandwidth).

I'm still on 56k, can get more from it (uncapped, unshaped) than ADSL and it's cheaper (a lot) than ADSL...

Well sadly telkom doesnt sell 1Mbit diginet lines and then hand out different pricing per meg for callmore.

How do you guys seriously expect this? Altho some of you may not know the above :p

Makes a lot of sense to me - IF Telkom/IS/Verizon could be persuaded to provide cheaper rates during those hours.
