Very insightful and eye opening. I have noticed that in some areas Samsung have taken a back seat indeed, they are no longer pushing as hard in terms of Camera, Fast Charging and even the silicon in their phones is not as cutting edge.
I remember the days where the Galaxy Note would get the either the next gen SoC (e.g. Galaxy Note 3 with Snapdragon 800) or get a the mid gen bumper SoC (e.g. Galaxy Note 4 with Snapdragon 805).
At the same time, I disagree, in that although Samsung have slowed down, it seems to me they are learning to First refine and then release features, rather than run out with them at 1st gen, as it has previously burnt them both figuratively and literally.
They are a much more mature company and with their brand solidified, they are able to take a little longer, however they have to be careful as companies like Huawei are fast at learning and adapting, just as Samsung was years ago.
Samsung are at an interesting place, they must move fast enough to keep up with companies like Huawei but move slower enough to ensure they bring well refined products, as they are still the "Apple Alternative". They are focused on Profit rather than market share.
