Hey everyone,

While I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I believe that there are some misconceptions around solar power that need to be addressed.

First and foremost, solar energy is a renewable and reliable source of power that can help us reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. It is cost-effective in the long run, good for the environment, creates jobs, and is versatile in its applications.

Solar energy has come a long way in recent years, and advancements in technology have made it more efficient and affordable than ever before. While it may not be a perfect solution, it is certainly not a f__up, as some have suggested.

I encourage everyone to do their own research and educate themselves on the benefits of solar power. Let's start a conversation and share our knowledge and experiences with this incredible technology. Together, we can help create a cleaner and more sustainable future for generations to come.

So, what do you think? Is solar energy a f__up, or a game-changing technology that can help us address some of the world's most pressing challenges? Let's hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I wonder if I hook up five lemons on series to the DB board if it won't be more effective
Does lemons not produce DC? Connect 5 lemons and let us know how it goes

What inerter is that?

What is your solar specs?

Victron 8kW. 12 x 455 panel.

We get 2 or 3 days a month like that. Low hanging cloud, continuous drizzle, no sun breaking through. Today has started the same.

I'm on Prepaid electricity.
I bought R300 worth of kWH units back in July 2022

I'm now down to my last 20kWh of what I bought back then. Most of the units used were from the grid trickle charge.

My Energy consumption came down from R2500 pm average pre solar to less than R50 per month after solar.

Is it a investment? For energy security yes. Else I just see it as post paid electricity for 7 years.

How many panels did you put in? As I'm still using about 300 units a month from City Power, that's basically geyser and stove, or days like today where it switched at 8am to pull from the grid as the clouds are hectic.
