Why Solar is Not a F__up: Debunking Misconceptions

Solar is awesome! I use it for heating and clothes drying.

Heating, I just let the sun shine on my skin. Clothes, I hang outside in the sun.

Also used it in a pinch to defrost a chicken.

How many panels did you put in? As I'm still using about 300 units a month from City Power, that's basically geyser and stove, or days like today where it switched at 8am to pull from the grid as the clouds are hectic.
14x 545 watt panels.
Keep in mind our daytime usage is high but in the evenings our baseload is around 350w so our batteries carries us throughout the night. Both my geysers and stove is electrical
 
solar is f_ K up a) its not affordable b) you need a lot of batteries for when the sun dont shine c) the sun doesnt always shine, we should have gone nuclear long ago but i guess we got an even bigger fup in eskom.

The problem is the ANC and DA is taxing the sun, "THE JUST ENERGY TRANSITION".
You are also being taxed on the electricity you buy or pay for every month and the fuel you put into you're vehicle etc. How is it different?
