Why Subaru's have 'flat' engines

My work is around the corner from TRB, there are always interesting cars there. I would love a Subaru with a huge spoiler in blue with the gold rims, guess I'll have to keep on driving my Grale.

You have an Integralle? I love Integralles!!
There was an imported EVO2 at the Ferrari day last month! Awesome!!

but there cars still whip the //Ms - Lol

Yep, point?

Not quite...but nice try. Wouldn't be seen dead in one or near one or with someone that owns one.

Which is a good thing. Most Subaru drivers wouldn't want grumpy 'grannies' in their cars anyway. So you can stick to your Atos Prime. :p :D

How many mybb members owns a Scoob n which model You have ?

I currently own a 2005 WRX and a 2003 WRX STI :D

Its a simple thing of once you own a scooby then only would you be able to understand the chemistry !!!

I've got to say, I know that the Subarus are excellent cars but the hyper-aggressive boy-racer looks put me off as well. I guess I like something a little bit more subtle but still angry looking like the Evo.

It's only the WRX/STi that are like that. The latest ones are not that bad except for the big wing on the STi.

I think the scoobies are losing their iconic status, all the scooby drivers I knew(a lot btw) don't have them anymore...

Very ugly cars IMHO, as others say, the ridiculous spoilers on the back, hood scoop, gold rims, etc. I just can't take it seriously.

You could start by looking at the latest version of the STi - gold rims? No more, only if bought in Chatsworth ;)

To be serious, however, the STi and WRX are a minute percentage of our sales. Certain Subaru Dealerships don't even stock them. The biggest seller is the Forester, which has been kicking some serious butt in the SUV stakes. And before you come back saying it's ugly, please look at the latest model (i.e. post 2008) We have moved on ;)

Does look much better. I'm not a big fan of bakkie/soft roader/4x4 tho. So not my style but the boxy shape at least is much less noticeable in the new model.

Have you ever bothered to compare Subaru prices with their direct competitors? You might just be surprised...

Care to show a comparison, not too sure who the direct competitors would be. I always thought the STI's competitor was the Evo but we don't get them here :(

Yes the EVO is a direct competitor to the STi and when last I looked, if you could get it, it cost between 50 and 100 k more, depending on which model you want.

What people very often ignore is the fact that they are All Wheel Drive, which puts them into a small market segment on their own - if you are in the SUV market, however, the only ones that are cheaper than ours are either Chinese or 4x2.

We are currently selling the 2.0 Legacy manual for R249 000. You are looking at a car the same spec as a C Class Merc, and the size of an E Class, for about 200 k less - and remember when you buy Merc or Audi or VW - the price you see is for the base spec model which basically doesn't exist as they all come with a million extras which have to be added to the price. Our cars are fully specced at the price you see.

If you can only afford 100 or 150 or 200, then obviously we cannot offer you anything. Best to compare apples with apples, however, before just blanketly saying our cars are too expensive.
