Why WA? Why?

You know I am a bit disappointed, WA.

I had a Titan Complete 2 with WA (384k + 15GB Cap)

I decided last month to upgrade to a 4mb line. Now WA gives me 10GB Cap + 4mb for R599 a month.

One of my friends who has the Titan Complete 3 pays R599 for 4mb line + 25GB Cap.

Now I can understand that the Titan Complete was a special and that it is now over but whey can't WA at least have kept me on a 15GB cap?

My line and everything is with WA...

Why can't they give me a Titan Complete 3 then as I rushed to get a Titan Complete when it was on special???

I am seriously considering moving my line to another ISP and signing with them

Who do you guys think I should consider Mweb uncapped 4mb or something with Axxess?

I play a lot online and host a lot of games on Black Ops on the Xbox360.
 
if your in cpt, mweb is good option as your traffic goes though sat-3 and not seacom.

and with mweb, you get the lowest BO ping as servers is hosted by them :)
 
Would be awesome if WA had another set of specials like the titan packages ... they should do it for the first 2 months of
every year so ppl can jump in.

I agree

WA is totally awesome but I can't justify paying R599 and getting only 10GB cap

And now with the R15 topups gone it's not worth it anymore. I know there is the download Plus, but I am not interested in downloading between 12pm and 6am.

When I want to download something I want to be able to and not worry that I might hit my cap in the middle of the month.
 
im still on there Titan 50gb special for R499 awesome deal just the account though, though recently they seem to be having packet loss faults for some reason

Have you tried calling them up and asking?
You don't mention it in your post, so give it a try.
Ask to speak to someone that has the actual ability to approve your request, the initial contact person probably won't have the authority.

"Hi, I'm a current subscriber, line with you, etc, etc, if I wanted to get the Titan 3, 15 (or 25 gig) cap at R599, who would I need to speak to? Who has the authority to approve this and what's their number?"

Be nice and friendly.

Heya BaTouSai,

You are correct, the Titan specials we launched last year were on a special and for a limited time. Unfortunately if you did run the upgrade, the special will fall away.

Maybe a few options to consider:

  • Have a look at our Home Smart Complete (Up to 10Mbps line & 10GB's = R399 for the first three months, R599 thereafter

With Download Plus, you can purchase allocated sizes of data along with an awesome special we're running at the moment for R4/GB for the first three months.

If you prefer, I can always arrange for a Sales agent to contact you and look into other options for you? :)

I considered the download plus but I am not a heavy downloader and am not interested in downloading anything from 12pm to 6am...

My problem is that 10GB is not enough to last a month if I game every night for a month.

I want to be able to download game updates and the odd download or two without hitting my cap.

On my titan special I had 15GB on 384k and used about 9GB a month but with the 4mb line I use about 300-400mb every night for gaming because I host the games.

Why couldn't I at least have kept my 15GB cap when I upgraded?
Now it is more like a downgrade but for a lot of money......

Can understand that, however Download Plus can in fact work both ways if you think about it. You can run the normal day to day surfing etc during office hours and run any downloads that you may want to do after hours.

On the gaming side, why not check out WAGE? All WAGE traffic is FreeZoned so traffic to and from the WAGE boxes don't count towards your monthly cap allocation. To add, we also run two FTP servers, namely ftp.wa.co.za and ftp.wage.co.za with loads of content - also FreeZoned.

I can understand that having 5GB's less a month can be restrictive, however there are options that I've mentioned above to gain that extra 5GB's or more.
Added onto this, 384kbps lines are a lot cheaper than 4Mbps lines - hence the slight price increase on the package.

As I mentioned above, drop me a line and I'll arrange for a Sales agent to give you a shout and look at some other packages we offer.

I can not make use of the WAGE servers because I am gaming on a Xbox360 not PC.

I will think about adding the download plus but then I have to download at inconvenient hours.

My main problem at the moment is the fact that I was one of the first to get Titan Complete and when I choose to upgrade which benefits myself and WA I get "downgraded"....

Why can't clients who have Titan Complete 384k get the same cap as the current clients who have Titan Complete 4mb when they upgrade or at least keep there cap on the Titan Complete 384k with a line speed upgrade???

No problem :)

By using Download Plus you don't have to stay awake and fall asleep at your keyboard while downloading ;) You can rather schedule all your downloads to run at these times. We've created a fairly basic walk-through on how to do this on our Knowledge Base when Download Plus was launched. Two examples articles as follows:

The "downgrade" issue was brought up a while ago, I believe this was accredited to an incorrect implementation on our DSL Console. However saying this, you must realise that our Titan range was a special that was run which included more data as apposed to our standard product ranges.
