Hi friends

Not to sound demeaning, but for those of you who are on PvE servers ... would you mind telling me why?

as far as I see it, ganking and the fear for the unsuspected attack makes the game all that it is! I sometimes wish you could gank players from your own side. Sometimes.

With PvP you have your green zones ... outside of that "One does not simply walk into Kalimdor"

I'd like the PvE server guys to give us a list of why they're there etc. It would be cool to compare the two for new guys joining and not knowing the difference...

I can't be bothered to sneak about killing other people, for the fun of it. When I quest around I prefer to enjoy the quest and not having to look over my shoulder the whole time. I enjoy the pve chalenges of the game.
When I want to PVP I enter a Battle ground and meet people from PVP servers etc on equal footing and can tear them appart. I do arena games where I can meet people of similar skill and enjoy a fair battle.

I prefer the maturaty of PVE servers, horde and alliance. Much less kiddies running around trying to provoke you into a fight.

That all said, I have chars on PVP servers as well, but 99% of the time I feel more like killing people in the same faction as I am due to their way of provoking people with Kill stealing etc.

Welll from a guy thats only played on pvp servers i can just see how things are on PVE servers (Happy Town).
Why to roll on PVE server if your horde.

1.You can hold Hands with gnomes and help them quest
2.You can pick herbs with Nigth Elf hunters just watch out the gnomes are playing hide and seek in the bushes note not to gank but they really are playing hide and seek.
3.You can listen to all the happy gnomes gigle while you dance with them
and they kill all you quest mobs but thats fine with you just wait for them to pass then you can quest cuase they are so cute.
4.O theres that nice herb let me get it omw gnomes there before me and his pvp is off so ill just wave and wait for it to respawn.(instead on pvp server i could have just shot him dead and taken the herb but that would be nasty)

Interesting point Werries...

Do you not think pve-realm characters level ALOT faster than pvp ?

What's the point of having horde/alliance if you're never in danger? Guild wars has 1 race of characters only and they can fight each other just as well in pvp if not better.

We may be missing out on alot, but there's nothing quite as exciting as walking through Ganklethorn-Vale and Southshore waiting to be cheapshotted by a rogue or moonfire spammed by a OOMkin

My biggest regret was starting on a PVE server. I am too much of a bully. If I see a allie (thats not at a neutral AH helping me :D ) I turn all red, teeth start clenching, and get my macro's ready to give the boy a beating hehehe.

Only reason I played on a PVE server, was because my brother that got me into the game told me... take this server.. do this .. do that... I was a n00b when I started and did'nt know any better. Before you wipe your eyes out, you sit with a character you invested so much time, you just cannot abandon him and start over. Honestly look at my reputation tab, its a lot of late nights gone into my little hunter. Your character reputation tab tells you a lot about time and effort invested in your character. :)

I play PvP cos if there is an ally killing the mobs I need for a quest, I don't have to wait for the respawns, I just kill him and finish my quest. Or he kills me and I move to another quest instead :D

PVP servers should be a FFA really. Griefers are the bane of PVP servers and frankly spending days trying to complete a 2minute quest because the area is being camped is not my idea of fun. Certainly my full s3 toons would love the challenge. My lvl25 shammy however does not

Yeah well thats why getting to 70 on PVP server just more of a challenge
And more rewarding .
Kinda would suck to get S3 on pve server only for arena and bg :(

But then again if holding hands with gnomes is your thing go for it.

My very first character was a NE (someorotherclass). I decided oneday to see how far I could travel with him (Lvl 13).

I ran all the way to Org's gates, thought 'this sucks' as I couldn't attack any hordies (was a noob, still a noob XD), sat down and logged out.

Rerolled on a PvP server and I have been ganked countless times since then. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Ofcourse if I loved the "challenge" of leveling sure.

And why does it suck to get S3 for Arena and BG? I'm working on S4 now. If I feel like running and killing horde I tag myself as PVP,or go do arena/bg

Frankly picking a fight with anybody just because we both are alive is a bit stupid

I play WoW to raid. If you want to pvp all day everyday roll on a non-questing PVP MMO with my best wishes :)

Like psywulf said. Some ppl's sole objective is to raid only. They dont want to pvp, they hate it.

Last thing they want is to be bothered while farming mats for raiding by some arb dude from the other faction.

Haha what in the world is fun in tagging yourself for pvp its like saying hey iam waiting for you gank me in my S4.OMG.
Thats just stupid.
No wonder you get bored lvl 70s on pve

I like to suprise people.
And even be suprised.
they should really take wawy pvp gear on pve servers i dont see the point they should just ba able to be used in BG and arena

The only reason I would roll on a PvE server is to get away from the griefing. I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be to try get your guys to a raid while being continuously griefed.

There is one big problem with PvE vs PvP

It's like driving an 1100 Uno all your life and one day you buy a 1800 Golf or something.

You will never drive the Uno again, ever :p

Once you have played on a PvP server, PvE servers seems so dead :o

Meh, we've had a few scuffles outside Raid instances but it's not too bad. Generally if you get to the summoning stone and you're a non-Stealther it's best to wait in the air until there are more of you.
But I can only think of 1 time when our Raid was delayed due to pvp and that was only because of one overenthusiastic Druid :P

And that only happens when one of your guild starts it :D I know the feeling.... it happens to us allot. Allies standing outside minding their own business and then some stupid are Shaman goes and attacks them, this ends up in a 30 minute power struggle at the summon stone :D

I just never learn do I :D

In my limited raiding career (for another topic), I must admit that I haven't experienced any griefing whatsoever. EDIT: Okay I lied, I keep forgetting about Pitbull's enthusiasm. But seriously, it basically doesn't happen

Leveling, dailys and instancing; countless times, but thats where being in a decent guild comes into play. Nothing nicer than a bunch of guildies swooping out of the sky to sort out a few problem children. But as time goes by, it has become easier due to gear, skill and experience.
