Does these Tp Link devices mesh properly or are they the same as the other brands that wants to connect to the main node only and not to each other.

They do mesh properly.

Though with my current S7 setup (I have 4x S7 nodes which I'm hoping I can replace with 3x the new XE75 nodes), one of the nodes alternates between the router node, the node closest to it which I want, and the furthest node which is cabled to the router node.

It seems that when a node further than the node closest to the router node can still see the router node, it tries to connect to it.

So in the app I'll either see the node in question connected to the node just before it (which I want), to the router node (don't want this), or the furthest cabled node (don't want this either but it's closer than the router node so would prefer it to the router node).

I think the S7's are actually too strong for my home, or the node in question is placed too close to the node between it and the router node.

Ah ok think I must get rid of my Xiaomi AX3000.

My third node only connects to the closest one for a while if I reset the 3rd node not sure how long it stays connected since I do not log in everyday.

But like today I saw it connects to the main node again :X3: and it is the furthest away and now both 2nd and 3rd node have bad signal until i reset the 3rd one again

Do you guys reckon in an 2 bed 70m2 apartment type environment (where one has to contend with neighbours Wi-Fi interferring) with 30mbps fibre that it's better to go Wi-Fi 6 mesh instead of Wi-Fi 5? Am I wrong in thinking of it like an arms race where you want to have better tech than your adjacent neighbours so that there's less interference on the same channels? Or with only 30mbps line speed does that really kill any motivation to go Wi-Fi 6?
Two S7 decos in wifi backhaul cover my parent's place, large block shaped house with 4 beds, 3 baths etc.

I am pretty sure judging by my experience and by post #108, you probably going to suffer the same issue again.

Edit: Seems like tp-link might be rolling out a solution if the last post on this thread is accurate.

I'm struggling to find this feature on my app though.

Edit #2:

Seems like a solution is being worked on indeed!

I see certain Deco models support signal selection now. Hopefully more models are added soon.

What will this do?

I must say my cheapie Cudy mesh using 2 x AX3000 units is working superbly. Excellent value for money considering the speeds/coverage I'm getting.

I have been using the Huawei for some time know and they do connect to each other and not the primary node so mesh actually works and extending coverage to the back yard perfectly unlike some other brands that only connects to the primary node.

Going to sell the Xiaomi AX3000 2 pack and keep the 3rd node i bought for something maybe somewhere down the line i don't know LOL.

They also work perfectly but not with 3 nodes since it uses the primary node only so for double story it would work but not for single floor house wanting to extend coverage.

I stopped buying routers with k@k chinese firmware years ago.
Never looked back.

Saw this on FB marketplace... would not have thought twice if I had the cash and the need for it.

Sure it's a bit "overkill" for many... but .. I mean ... just look at it.

Replaced my AmpliFi Gamer HD (similar to the above) with UniFi, and eventually with TP-Link Deco. So good!
