Wi-Fi 6 Mesh System

That is weird. Got mine from Makro pulled the trigger very late so TA special was gone.

As per pic signal is not full since it is so far away from the main unit but still gives me my full line speed so far happy with it.

Mine wasn't even picking up and it's like 10 to 15m away from main

The Mercusys is just as bad as my Xiaomi AX3000 when it comes to meshing. The nodes also wants to connect to the main node only no matter what you do it does not want to connect to each other.

What the hell is the use in selling a 3 node pack since you can't extend your wifi coverage properly. Now one must do fckn cable from the house to the granny flat.

Halo system and my AX3000.

I have wasted 6 hours of my life on this unit, stops broadcasting the SSID, no reason to do it. Stay away from V 1.4.31 as that's what I have on a brand new unit. Taking it back tomorrow for a refund.
Be careful of the Xiaomi AX3000 mesh unit.

Ouch.

And support from Xiaomi is also non existent. My Cudy mesh system did not have this issue and the AX3000 would have been a great mesh system if they actually fixed this connection issue everyone has with them. Been looking all over online with no success for a solution.

Looks like you guys never saw my review here:

I managed to give my two Xiaomi AX3000s away free to a good family member who just needed to use one as a router. As APs, they suck bigtime.

Just get TP-Link Deco. Will never have a problem.

Or Reyee higher-end stuff.

Fck a bit too late :X3:. Thanks for that detailed post.

I have 3 units > 1st one (router mode) > 2nd one (wireless mesh mode) > 3rd one (wireless mesh mode)

The 3rd node has weak signal because of the distance from the Main node and it also makes the second node signal weaker if I turn the 3rd node off the signal is full on node 2 again. Then I get my full line speed everywhere.

Turning the 3rd node on I loose almost 3 quarters of my line speed if I test wirelessly from node 2 and 3. So I need to go the cable way to node 3.

Hopefully I read/understand it properly  so I must disconnect the other 2 nodes and then first setup the 3rd one as a AP?

Set one up as a router and the rest as repeaters or access points.

Edit: Better still, give them away to someone special.

Flog to a poor soul on Marketplace and get TP-Link Deco S7 for +-R3,500. An extra antenna and Gigabit LAN port over the S4 and will comfortably do 500Mbps.

WiFi 6 so overrated in my experience. Maybe 5% of people benefit from it?

The internal cumbustion engine is so overrated. Maybe 5% of people benefit from them over harsedrawn carriages.

Ok i get that it's not the best analogy, but why do you think only 5% will benefit from Wpa3 and faster speeds, amongst other things.

I read something online on a forum that to get them to link to each other is to reset the 3rd node and let connect on its own again. How long they will stay in a mesh mode i do not know.

But for now they actually connect like i want them to without cables. Must use them until i have funds to go for a other system.

Quick one, I need upgarde from AC based Deco to AX or Wifi7.

My place is small enough to techinally only need 1, as the my pc room is hard wired.

Can I just add the new model to the mix and make it the main router and then move to where old main one was?

Main one being connected to the ONT.

I basically want to upgrade the system without reconnecting all the alexa devices etc.

You should be able to use the same WiFi SSID and password as the old system and all your devices should reconnect

Should work fine, I did just this a while back (M4 to X50) and there were no issues.

I missed this thread, would have avoided the mercusys. Created a similar thread:
