Wi-Fi 6 Mesh System

^^ lol a mission just to update the firmware.

I’m not sure maybe Ron was drunk.

They took all of 5 minutes to setup and don’t recall any of these issues.

Months later my mate is a very happy camper and never touched it again.

VLANs are pretty much never a thing on consumer kit without hacked firmware.

If you had taken the brand name out I would have said this summarised my experience with the HUAWEI.

How old is that post though? Maybe it was relevant at the time but certainly wasn’t the case a few weeks ago.

Hi so I am looking for a Wi-Fi 6 mesh system not sure what to get. Was looking at the below units.

Does anyone have experience with them or can advise or must i go for something else.

Would need 3 pods and budget is around 3-3.5k.

Xiaomi AX3000

I won a pair of the Xiaomi AX3000 here on MyBB.

Update since review :

I sold my other Mesh system, switched the WiFi off on my router and only use the WiFi mesh from the AX3000's.

Works great and entire house covered.

Still very happy with it.

I have to disagree.

Update was smooth, one click on update tab on phone app, that's it.
They should update the TAL listing then.
Please note: This device supports the South African region once a firmware update has been completed. You can update your firmware via the web app or the Xiaomi app. Once completed, reset your router in order to connect your device to the correct region. Please consult your user manual for additional information.

I'm really thinking about going for the Halo H80X. I'm leaning towards the white one instead of the black Xiaomi's because it'll just look better in my house. But, of course, I want the better product overall. It's kinda annoying that Takealot says the Mercusy's only come with a 6-month warranty. Not sure if that's a mistake, though, 'cause on Evetech, they're saying it's a 1-year warranty.

Mind explaining why?

Because it’s pretty much a TP-Link for a lot of money and way too expensive at that.

****

But I see the discount price makes them much the same so might be worth a look considering the price parity.

Personally fallen out of love with TP-link over time.

The metal housing of the Xiaomi is also just a much higher quality feeling than the clearly plastic looking Mercusys, even if you preference is white.

Not really anything specific just simplicity really. Then i don't need to switch on the pc or get the laptop when i want to block users or change names for certain devices or just monitor stuff.

UniFi.

But it’s not cheap.

Well worth it though.

Sold by the same seller:

I don't like this 6 month warranty business though. My Deco S4 came with a 2 year warranty. The app is constantly updated (even supports dark mode for example).

From what i can see the Mercusys and Deco has Parental Controls which does make it a bit more tempting to get especially for the kid too many choices :X3:

I am happy for your sake that your experience was better than mine. The Xiaomi units are OK if you are happy with consumer-grade units.

I have thrown my two Xiaomi AX3000s and two Ubiquiti APs out in favour of 4x Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP1260, and I could not be happier. The Reyee units are on another level, even better than Ubiquiti.

The AX3000s and UAP-AC-LRs will be passed on to family members who are less demanding than I.

I’m also a UniFi man so I know where you are coming from.

And I’m completely over the top with a UDM Pro sitting in the garage.

But that’s an entirely different cost argument and really can’t be compared.
