Okay i have a Telkom ADSL wi-fi router.

Currently i am using for the internet via ethernet i.e. cables, now i want to connect my nintendo ds across the internet thus wi-fi is required. when i use telkoms wi-fi router setup CD it says "Warning": clear all modem settings, now:

1 - will this make my ethernet connections fail and thus i won't be able to use them so i would have to set them back up and
2 - could someone tell me then how to set up the wi-fi router properly, i am sure someone must have done this

thanks

OK FIRST INSTALL THE TELKOM DISK that you got in the box of the 512g router.
ok now go to the desktop and select the icon there then go through the wizard
At the end of the wizard enter the adsl username and password and enter
this will flash the router and set the stuff in memory
ok
now go to the ds and enter the weptk key ( security key thats a sticker behind the wirless router
Or ask the ds to search availble wifi
it will search then it will ask for the wep key enter it and of you go
Just follow the instructions from the ds

I dont have a ds but i use my psp to connect to the internet via the telkom router
JUst make sure that the sticker behind the router is a wpa tk key
do not enter the mac address stuff
just make your router a access piont
But in order to use it the key must wpa tk key must be entered
So your ds will ask for this i think\
like i said i dont know how the ds connects to the internet

Good luck man
remember to switch your router on and of fevery couple of days

See, the problem is it says Warning will clear previous settings, now will this affect my ethernet connections?

Make a note of all of the settings for every option before you make any changes...

I'm not familiar with your particular router, but usually it's not necessary to run the CD.

Most Telkom routers can be accessed by typing the IP address into your web browser, e.g. http://10.0.0.2

Check the settings there and see where you need to enable WLAN and set your WEP key.

Hope this helps.
