I am using a Telekom modem, and recently found my iPad cannot locate the wireless signal. The wifi light on the modem comes in for 2-3 seconds then goes off. Have tried the norm resetting modem, no luck. A laptop connected via LAN cable to modem works fine.

Any suggestions please?

What encryption are you using and router, had problems with router wireless signals before have you tried very close to the antennae
had to replace a router because wifi was very weak

Paper signal booster ? It really does work. Managed to get a 9Db increase (Which is what they said you would). Tested the increase with an Android app. It fixed the problem of an internet connection that kept disconnecting when connected to a laptop.

Throw your Telkom router FAR AWAY, and upgrade to a decent one.
The Wifi transmitter on the Telkom router is a bag of sh*t, and the Wifi transmitter/receiver in the iPad is just as bad.

Although, if you are in the mood to troubleshoot, then do as FNfal said, and try different encryptions, standing right next to the router.

Last option, take it back to telkom, they should swap it out there and then...

Which modem is it? You said recently it didn't work, did it work before? Is it possible to SSH into the modem? Is the wireless activated, can you see the SSID from the iPad?
