Wierd hum from pc..

So my upgraded pc is great, but there is a strange low frequency droning hum that pulses slowly and evenly.
Sounds like:
waaaooommm...waaaooommm...waaaooommm...

Funny I know, ..it's not loud but it's made worse by the acoustics of the room, and is really getting to me.

Anybody know of anything remotely relevant!?

I had the same issue with my machine - it is the Hard drive - basically can be a number of things, could be seated funny in the case in which case you just need to re seat it.

Or it could be an issue with the actual drive. I don't even notice mine anymore.

Is that 250 a Samsung by any chance?

It's most likely a fan that is in resonance with your chassis. I've had this before (exhaust fan), try tightening all possible screws etc in your chassis. Could also try vibration dampening washers and gaskets.

Something that spins is not spinning true, and causing a vibration. Fan, CD ROM, HDD....

ye, possible, though I have the Zalman silicon pins on all but the intake, ...I suppose I should unplug it and see if there's a difference.

Try stopping the fans one by one (only for a few seconds) and see which one is causing the humm

Ye you guys are right, it's the Seagate 250GB, put my hand on it and it's vibing itself silly yo. Seated it in another bay, no difference.

Hm, I think I'm going to eject it from my system, it's killing me working it's way into my brain like a worm on a sci-fi show, maybe use it as an external..
