Wifi Calling Cell C

What is the real reason behind wifi calling not being made available on Apple devices on Cell C in South Africa. Wifi calling functionality is already available on the iPhone 5/5s/6/6s in Europe and the States. I can't get a coherent explanation from Cell C or Apple South Africa. Is anybody in the know?

It depends how they implemented wifi calling here, and if it is supported in the handset. You also need an updated carrier profile from Apple, but that normally doesn't take longer than a month.

On Android the operators have it easier, they add their hooks into the OS under their own ROM.

*edit* If your phone is jailbroken, you can always patch the comm center to support unsigned files and then just update the Cell C profile to enable wifi calling to see if it works.
