News Cafe / Mugg&Bean used to be free not sure anymore though.
free browsing in SA is that possible?

News cafe give you a voucher for a few MB if you order something.
There are a handful around JHB - not sure about DBN...
But most of them are either capped by the 3rd of the month or dead slow - its not really worth while.
Another thing I've seen is secure wireless networks that are for public use... you become a regular and get to know the manager and then you get the key. But you have to be pretty regular for them to give away their key

I know M&B gives you 15min free browsing and then a screen pops up where you have to enter you cc details or any mweb/IS account information.
all require CC details, which suks big time...
