Hi, any recommendations for a new wifi mesh system? Been using 5 airties 4920 units but they are now giving troubles

I'm very happily using a Huawei AX3 (Chinese version) meshed with a WS5200.

I guess the answer depends on your budget, and requirements. Wifi6 mesh systems are crazy expensive.

I was also on the Airties for a long time and they worked great - then the network expanded and my requirements changed and they didn't cut it anymore - so moved to a Unifi solution. What are your specific requirements that the mesh isnt solving for you?

+1 for Deco. Do yourself a favour link up the individual access points with lan cabling. You can't really unleash the true power of mesh wifi without doing this.
Isn't the point of mesh to NOT use physical cable to each node?

Depends on the size of coverage you want, speeds and functions. For Wi-Fi 6 get the X20, otherwise the M4 will serve you well, they both have gigabit Ethernet should you want to have a wired backhaul.

Not always. Wired backhaul between the nodes is optimal, but not necessary. The big win with mesh is seamless handover between nodes and single configuration for the entire network.

Think of each mode as a cellphone tower.

If the towers were connected to each other wirelessly until they reach the data centres, you would have kak internet.

You need each node to have the best available speed, and that's via cable. You connect each node to each other until it reaches your router. The main advantage of a mesh is a unified network, not to avoid cables...

Any mesh system that doesn't require you creating and logging in on their cloud account? I'd prefer my access points not to have to log into any service.

Then I have been running Mesh'es for a long while with Mikrotik's seamless handover.

But on a serious note, I would imagine a good Mesh Node has two antenna

Client to Node Antenna
Node to Node Antenna / so dedicated antenna - wireless backhaul instead of wire.

I use the Deco M9+. Best tech I have bought in a long time.

Don't buy this locally, check Amazon.
