Wifi Reception on Whole Premises

At work i would like to be able to extend the wifi network to the whole premises.

There are 4 main buildings.

3 of the buildings are relatively near one another the third is a little bit further away.

I reckon they are all within a 100m x 100m block. (will check now now)

Can you get one antenna to serve all of the buildings or would it be better to get a wifi hotspot for every building?

Think about it like this
You are asking if you can get 1 AP with multiple or 1 big antenna to cover the entire premises,did you consider the devices connecting' own ability to transmit back? ;)
 
Are they separate buildings? Or are they already cabled? If they are cabled already I would suggest an Ubiquiti unfi AP for each building at least.

Well i thought about it, but because i don't understand it 100% i thought the antenna can catch up the weaker signal. ;)

But thinking a bit more about it makes sense.

2 of the three buildings are cabled, the other two aren't.

I just check the Ubiquiti Unfi AP they look like awesome AP's.

Where does one get them? I see miro is the distributor but i don't have an account there.

Also considering every device connecting to an AP would cut the speed for the rest,especially those with older wireless adapters,i'd get in as many APs as feasible :)
 
PoE injector comes in the box with it. I would recommend you get some shielded cable and jacks as well, the waterproof stuff if you're running the cable where it will be exposed to the elements at any point.

Whats the reason for shielded cable?

I know i might sound like a NOOB but i seriously don't want to have to dig up paving for this job so this is my plan. If it won't work i will dig up paving. So i want to ask:

There are 4 Buildings

Building B has a Wifi network at the Moment and also has the main network hub
Building A has fibre optic to the building so its on the network.
Building C and D haven't got any network infrastructure so it needs to be fed from Building B, also they only have outside walls no inner walls

So what i was thinking is to put two "Ubiquiti UniFi (Long-range)" on the side of building B and then one inside building A as shown with the pink dots.

Do you think it could work like that?

Shielded cable is to ground and protect the UniFi devices against ESD (the supplied PoE injector is grounded).

With respect to your diagram, I'd place the UniFi in building A centrally (the beam pattern isn't directional as you depict). For buildings B & C, is there no chance of you using powerline adapters or running cable? I'd avoid placing 2/3 AP's within spitting distance of each other (as you said building B already has wireless), to try to avoid interference if possible.
 
What equipment is running in B?
Ubiquity as well?
 
Why don't you guys ditch the Airport and have a one brand solution?
A centrally managed system with 4 strong access points in each building?

The Airport works incredibly well at this stage, its also our main backup solution.

I haven't got a budget but depending on the cost we can make a plan from there, what do you recommend?
 
I'm not sure if you'd feel it as overkill and expensive, but looked at a Ruckus solution?

A controller for management and APs each building. Far better than anything out there - but does come at a price.

WIFI is not a science, more of an art. I think the up to 182m is clear line of site with no obstructions. For bang for the buck the ubiquiti unfi equipment is very good.
