HI,

So i purchased an adls router yesterday, i found out telkom has line in my complex and can get an adsl line put in. But until then i have an account with Amobia, however their connection from the aerial is Ethernet, and the adsl router does not have a wan port?

What can i do to utilise the Amobia internet until telkom installs the adsl line? Is there a converter from Ethernet to adsl?

thanks man, so at least there is hope.

I have turned the dhcp off, do i now have to setup my IPV4 to a specific IP that matches my ISP? My ISP's ip is 192.168.8.1.

I the below correctly setup?

Why have you got it setup statically? It should get it via DHCP from your Amobia device.

You probably need to configure a Static IP on the ADSL router in that range though.

Unless you misunderstood the post above. He meant to disable DHCP in the router, not your PC.

Hi,

I did disable on the router. I tried both dhco and static on my ipv4 setup an nothing works.

I'm getting so confused now lol

Is the goal to get WiFi from the new ADSL router?

If so then don't change your setup, just turn off dhcp on the new adsl router and plug it in on your LAN network.
If not then you realy can't use the ADSL router yet
