Hi

I bought myself a PCMCIA wireless card, a Senao long range with option to attach an antenna. As well as a 7202G Billion wireless router.

Problem is as soon as i leave the room my signal drops from 100% to 40/30% in any other room. I can surf the net "slowly" but can't transfer files nor stream media.

Is this normal for wireless setups ?

I upgraded the router firmware and the signal seems slighlty better.

even at 30% signal you should atleast be getting 15mbps throughput... your adsl line has allot less than that 512k-1mbps. The problems not with your wireless (it could be stronger though)... its likely your adsl line... latency.

Hi Max can you please send your contact details to [email protected]
we would like some more info on your problem and we would like to do a few tests.

Do you have an antenna connected to that senoa card? sounds like the sl2511 ext2 card, they don't work well without the antenna connected. They have no built in antenna.

Yes my bad, i bought it because it was advertised to work well on Linux (and it does) but they don't mention that it has no internal antenna, i found that out yesterday after searching google for a very long time and from you thanx.
