Guys,

We are getting a B&B running.

What will be the best option to provide access to family (priority 1) and guests (priority 2).

System should be easy to maintain for my wife as I am out of the country as an expat for most of the time.

What should I currently look at in terms of modem and/or router, AP's etc?

It is a single storey T-shaped house with leg lengths about 30m each. DSL line in the T junction.

Advice will really be appreciated.

Regards

Hi

I would recommend 2 x Ubiquiti UNIFI ceiling/wall mounted AP's, either just plain 2.4Ghz or 2.4Ghz/5Ghz depending on your budget.

You can then use the Ubiquiti's AP controller and hotspot to control guest access, e.g from the reception PC. It can run two wireless networks, one for guests and one for your family.

This would be the easiest option. Alternatively a Mikrotik RB750Gl to run the hostpot side and 2 x AP's for the wireless - however like you said it should be easy to maintain so unless you have technical knowledge on ROS I wouldnt recommend it.
