Hi everyone just as the topic says I have a quite annoying and expensive problem, every time I use my laptop thru either my Galaxy note 3 or the wife's Galaxy s2 with wifi tethering data seem to dissappear? :-( My windows update is not downloading automatically nor is there any application using data? Eg. This morning I loaded 250 mb data bundle started up the laptop did some banking (Nedbank and FNB) and was busy for 10 minutes not browsing anything and then logged off and shut down the laptop. Now guess what when I checked my data there was 89 mb left :-( :-( Now after a R2000 bill for Dec (R1200 out of bundle) and me SHOOOUUUTIIINNNGGG!!! at Vodacom helpline staff, witch by the way is like talking to a dead cactus only worse! they can't tell me where my data went. Anybody experience the same thing? or can point me in the right direction regarding settings I could have gotten wrong I would really appreciate it.

Are you sure nothing in the background is using the data? Maybe have a look around for a data usage tracker for windows and maybe that can point you in the right direction :)

There are quite a few network usage monitoring tools available, which you should install on your PC.

I personally install Networx on every PC I come across, and educate users about monitoring their data usage. It shows you in realtime how much you are downloading and uploading. I dock the meter in the start/taskbar, so that it is always visible.

You get other monitors/meters that can break down your data usage by application/process, but I still prefer Networx because its always there, always running, and always displaying your current usage, in an unobtrusive way. Other monitors run as full size applications, and tend to get in the way, are ignored, or irritate users.

I am going to try Networx, but doesnt look like it tells you what is using data.
It would be awesome to see exactly what process or program is downloading or uploading.
Anyone know of a program to monitor in this detail??
