Maybe you can post the symptoms and solution for other forumites who might have the same problem?
Ok, here goes:

Problem (with 64K SIM)
When you try to download the WIG data, ie Vodata menu (using *141*777#), you get the following messages:
SMS 1. Setting up your VODATA menu, this may take a while
SMS 2. !@#$%^&*(*&^%$#WERFGHJKMNBGFR%^&*(&^&%$#!@#$%^*&*#@EFGHMJKUI^%YTG
^ Basically Garbage
SMS 3. Same as SMS 2
SMS 4. All applications have been dowloaded. Please switch off and on your phone to refresh the SIM.

At this point, when you 'restart' your phone, VODATA is still not there

Solution
Ask v3g :D
No, seriously v3g got the guys to contact me, and I had to supply Cellphone number and SIM number. They made some changes on their side, I tried to download again, and its working!

Other symptoms

1) You key in *141*777# to download Vodata
2) You get the message: "Download in progress / Download commencing"
3) The following messages are: "Error Keyset 01"
4) After downloading you switch your phone off & on and no menus
5) You prbably did a sim swap recently

Get in touch with V3G or Vodacom Customer Care and request them to add the new simcard's id number (printed below the gold chip of the sim) to your phone number's WIG profile and Ta-Da!

WiG Errors

Hi,

I have the Standard Bank menu, and all I can do is get a balance. Other menus just puts me beck to the main menu and others give me a "Command error in client bound message:2D04.

I have already removed and replaced the standard bank software.

Vodacom3G to the rescue.

I am really impressed!

PM'd my details to v3g, and I was sorted out in the same hour.

Thanks a lot :)

PS. I hope they pay you enough.

It seems as if this issue hasn't been resolved permanently. I recently had a sim swop and I also got a "Error Keyset 01" message. I also have a 2201_5 sim card.

If you still have the problem, PM me your cell and sim numbers please, as well as an e-mail.

Seems every now and then a sim needs to be 'reset' to get the WIG working.

Hi Erike

I have a Nokia 6680. I have been trying to download the VODATA menu for a while now but have been unsuccessful. I keep on getting an error "Not enough memory to receive SIM messages. Delete some data first. I have deleted everything and still no help. Do you know how one can delete the phone and SIM memory for this phone.

Try deleting the SMS's stored on your SIM card. Go to "Messaging"->"Options"->"SIM messages". I have no messages stored here so I don't know what menu options you have but there should be options to delete, copy or move SMS messages. If you are no longer interested in the messages simply delete them otherwise move them. If you move them they will then go to your phone's Inbox and be deleted from the SIM card.

Was going to suggest same, probably is stored SMS's or numbers on the SIM that filling it up.

If you need to keep a large number of contacts on your SIM, it's probably time to upgrade your SIM to a 32K one.

I keep all my data on the phone itself and sync it to the PC. This way I can keep more numbers stored on the phone itself and have a backup in case I loose the phone, SIM or swap between handsets.

Hi IC

No. My card was never a prepaid. I have deleted everything that can be deleted. My brother has the same phone. When I downloaded the VODATA menu on his phone, the error message appeared but the download still happened. I contacted Vodacom who said that the messages were pending but not going through. Does anyone know what else I could do?
