Guys!

Quick!

I found an Wii for sale in south africa, it's a NTSC version...

Whats the difference between the PAL and the NTSC versions.

Please help me, I'm going to buy one at lunch if the news is good.

I'll let you know where it is if there are any left and you help me.

Thanks,
Bm

AFAIK, you can only buy PAL games in SA.

Of course, if you use "imports", it should be OK - I have never even seen a Wii, so take this advice as such!

It comes with 10 free games! and it's legit.

Is there any crap with an NTSC console in SA?

I own a 74cm Sony Wega?

It's really up to your TV I'm afraid. I don't think your Wega will support NTSC, but I could be wrong.

Also, what's the "10 free games"? do they mean Wii Sport and Wii Play? Which are basically mini game packs. Does it come with an extra wiimote?

Where did you find it if I may ask? Are they the sort of place that would let you take it home and try it?

The Sony Wega should be multi-system so you should be ok, just check the power supply on the Wii to make sure it can handle 220v input (it may only be 110v) or you may need to get a step down convertor, blown power supplies don't smell good :)

you will have hassles buying new games. Virtually all games avail in SA will be PAL. Your wega should do NTSC though. And you have the voltage problem...

This sounds like a lot of hassle to me....

Hmmm, I'll confirm with the shop @ lunchtime....

So, to recap.

Which free 10 games?
Power Supply?
NTSC on my Wega?
Number of remotes?

Missing anything?

You guys rock btw.

I've seen it. It's not in the paper. I've been to the shop and looked at it.

It's real. It's just NTSC

Pal is European, Ntsc/uc is american and some other countries im not quite sure of lol:p

If ure getting and Ntsc one ure gonna have to import your future games as i im pretty sure they wont be available here:(

Good question...

Did you get it? And from where? Come on, don't be such a jerk not telling us where to get it from... :(

Actually I'd call him wise ;) He'll tell us once he's lready secured one for himself.

Like I know where to get Guitar hero 2 for the 360 ;)

Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 is a LOT easier to find than a Wii.

Edit: And how on earth can this thing come with 10 free games and still be legit? I smell something rotten...

Hello All,

I sprang for a 32 inch flat instead. I've got so much work todo so I'm going to buy a 360 after I've finished a few work goals.

The Wii location....

da da dum....

Kenilworth Center, Kenilworth in Cape town.

The store is next to Edgars on the ground floor. I'm really sorry I can't remember the name.

It does include 10 free games... I looked at the list available and only recognized a few, including zelda

Good hunting.
