Hey Guys

So my son wanted a Nintendo Wii U. I know the Switch/NX is out, but this is not really an issue. Is the Wii U backwards compatible? Got a few Wii games lying around still, so just wondering.

It is backwards compatible. You can connect Wiimotes and everything.

Thanks :) ive got those lying around as well :)

:) But it is a dead console, so worth bearing in mind. If you can get it secondhand for a good price it can be worthwhile still I think, but new you'll be wasting your money. After Breath of the Wild there won't really be any games at all on there. Plus, Switch is going to be getting ports or new versions of a lot of the best games from Wii U in the first year - Splatoon2, Mario Kart 8, Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade.

Not really bothered as said about the switch.. i picked up one 2nd hand for just over a grand. My son is only into the Pokemon, Mario and Zelda stuff.. so not worried about 3rd party that much.

Yea for R1k a Wii U is a really good purchase because the library is terrific, even if no new games are coming out. Mario 3d World, Pokken Tournament, Zelda Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (this game is a gem), Yoshi's Woolly World, Pikmin 3, Breath of the Wild...

Yep, and for a 7 year old kid, think he will enjoy those alot more. I basically got rid of the Xbox, as i just found kids titles not up to scratch imo. Nintendo has always been great for this, so having had the Wii before, its back to basics :)

Any one know which games are available that are worth while for the balance board
