What is the general consensus about Wii U? Do you want one? If yes/no, do you already own a Wii and do you like your Wii?

Mods, can we have a poll:

Are you looking forward to the Wii U launch?

1. Yes, I own a Wii and want a Wii U
2. No, I own a Wii and am not that interested in Wii U
3. Yes, I don't own a Wii, but with it's features, I might give the Wii U a go.
4. No, I don't own a Wii, and don't care much for Wii U
5. I'll wait and see

I'm at 1 simply because I feel it's time for something new and there are Nintendo titles not available to other consoles. I might hang back a little and see the general response though too.

I want it but its just too expensive. Would rather get a Nexus 10 or Windows 8 tablet for that price
 
I own a wii and i'm not that interested in a wii-u unless I get a really good deal in the future.
 
Yeah, it's expensive, but has some serious hardware in that 'control'. Definitely not the best timing IMO. The last generation console wars did much to fuel the hype. After the crash, I think people are tight, so consoles might be lower down the want list. That said, people are still buying new TVs like they're the best thing ever. Speaking for myself too.

I find my self confused by your ans were and agreeing with you at the same time.

The WiiU is not a tablet. Its a console that has a tablet like controller accessory.

However... I can't decide if I want to spend 4k on a new console or 3k on a new tablet :D

...so in the same boat

:) Decisions, decisions... I think the last generation console wars have me hankering for more... something new... that's why I'll likely end up being a Wii U owner in the near future. I cant look at it and wonder what it's like to own one. I have, on the other hand, quickly got bored of android ;)

I reckon if they push 3D content, they'd get a bigger following. Consumers are ready for 3d IMO.

Don't get me wrong I know exactly what the WiiU is I have a 3DS and love Nintendo games, I have no intention to use a tablet as a primary gaming device. Its just I need a tablet to get some work done (excel, email etc) my Netbook is getting too old and Win8 doesn't run on it the way it should.

Thing is I can't afford both at the same time, a new tablet and a new console, so the console will have to wait, work before games. And I don't think i'm the only one that puts the WiiU last on their gadgets to get list

I had the 3DS now have the XL. Why wait its out in shops.
The 3D is better on it but its more pixelated than the std 3DS the pixelation irratates me sometimes but other people don't seem to mind and once you get playing it doesn't really bother you.

Didin't realise it was in SA shops yet :o
Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to go look for one now. I hear you re: pixelation - so same resolution, just bigger screen?

Yup much bigger screen its HUGE in fact! I've never played on a handheld this big!
 
I don't currently own a Wii but the new one is looking interesting. I would like to give it a try.

Resident Evil Revelations is amazing on the 3DS I'd buy that first, its even better with the circle pad pro but the XL doesn't have one yet. Don't pay full price for Mario Kart 7, its awesome fun but its always on special was on special at IC for R99 a while ago so get second hand or buy when its a special

If i'm not mistaking there was a 2nd hand copy of RE Revelations at BT in somerset west so your local store can maybe get you that one.

I have Super Mario 3D Land gathering dust if you want PM, awesome game.
