WIII Frozen Throne local server?

I'm trying to play Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne online on a local server. I found some help on how to do it here http://forum.twilightgaming.co.za/i...ng-to-the-twilight-server-through-battle-net/

So i'm using BN Gateway Editor to try and connect to a local server. Perhaps it's outdated by now, so i guess by 'Host Name' it should be 'IP'?

Under Name i entered 'Twilight', under IP 'war3.co.za' and under Zone '2'
When i hit 'Detect Gateway' it connects successfully with a 70ms ping.

Now when i go to Battle.net it gives an error "You may be trying to connect to an invalid battle.net server..." I can play on the other servers but i get 280ms to 500ms pings.

Why does this happen? I know W3 is old now, but is the server not running anymore or what? Is there another local server i can play on? :confused:
 
Its up and working. Pls read the last line in that post again:

"Launch Warcraft III, using the w3 loader (the round, red icon), and click on the “Battle.net” button. You should now connect to the Twilight server. "
 
i will upload my reg file that does server settings etc tonight, if you don't get it working before that
 
Ok finally got it working..

When i click on Battle.net, nothing happens, but when i click cancel and go again to Battle.net it goes to the login page. Almost lost it for a while when it kept saying 'this account does not exist' until i realised that i had to use the account i created on twilightgaming.co.za

Yes they disabled the in-game account create. You have to create a game via the forums.
 
Take a look at War3.za - should be able to find it if you google it. Server is called twilight - pretty cool with a lot of games running almost 24/7.

Site and forums have full details of joining :)

Its the same server the OP is asking questions about ;)
