i managed to get one of these for myself via ebay, and it's a great console. everyone who picks up the remote 'gets' it a second later, and they love it.

I heard it's going to be released in August in SA. Did I hear correct?

Yup, rumours are for the Nintendo Wii to be release in August here in South Africa.

Like FINALLY!! I got mine way back in December, a month after it was released.

I've often thought about getting a console for playing the occasional game.. (being a Linux user) .. Since I first read about the Wii I've figured it's just the console for me.. but I'll only ever get one if they officially release them here..

So yea.. a local release would be great news..
